Mike Seashols
Chairman
Mike's experience includes work with some of Silicon Valley’s largest public organizations, emerging high-growth businesses, and various startup companies. His career combines a strong mathematics and engineering background, significant assignments in both sales and marketing roles, and numerous CEO positions. He has spent the better part of his career in database software and related fields, where he was the initial vice president of sales and marketing at Oracle, founder and CEO of Versant, CEO of Documentum, and Chairman and CEO of Evolve, all of whom he led to successful IPO’s. Mike spent 11 years with IBM after graduating with a mathematics degree from Manchester College. He enjoys the roles of board member, mentor, business strategist and operational executive. He has contributed to the creation of over 20 companies and businesses, both private and public. Mike has managed or mentored over 30 CEO's during some aspect of their careers.
Anthony Lee
Board Member - Altos Ventures
Anthony Lee is a General Partner of Altos Ventures. He currently serves as a director of NetBase and several other technology companies. Before joining Altos Ventures, Anthony led marketing efforts for three start-up companies. Previously, Anthony was a strategic consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he worked with clients in the telecommunications and pharmaceuticals industries. Anthony serves as Vice Chairman of TechSoup Global, the world’s largest non-profit distributor of computer software and hardware and is a founding member of the Full Circle Fund, a venture philanthropy group based in San Francisco. He received his MBA from Stanford University and earned a BA in Politics and Economics from Princeton University.
Don Butler
Board Member - Thomvest Ventures
Don Butler is the President of Thomvest Ventures Inc. He began his career with the investment-banking firm of Lehman Brothers, where he was a member of the energy and high technology industry groups in New York and San Francisco. In this capacity, Don assisted in completing transactions ranging from initial public offerings to mergers and acquisitions. Don worked thereafter with the consulting and investment firm Asia Pacific Ventures, where he assisted numerous technology companies in business development in the East Asian markets. Don received a bachelor’s degree in Chinese from UCLA and master’s degrees in East Asian Studies and Political Science from Stanford University.
Anthony Bettencourt
Board Member
Anthony Bettencourt is currently the chairman of Blinkx, Inc., the world's largest video search engine on the Internet. Previously, Anthony was the Chief Executive Officer of Verity, Inc, where he was responsible for growing the business from $15m in annual revenues to more than $140m from 1995 to 2006, resulting in Verity's agreeing to be acquired for more than $500m at the end of 2005. In 2005, he was awarded the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for software and technology in the Silicon Valley. Anthony serves on the advisory board for Santa Clara University's Center for Science, Technology and Society, as well as serving as a judge for the Tech Awards and a mentor for Santa Clara University's Global Social Benefit Incubator program. He serves on the board of directors of Next Page, Alameda County Community Food Bank and is an independent advisor to the board of Autonomy, Inc. Anthony earned a B.A. in English from Santa Clara University in 2006.
Ly Tran
Board Member
Ly is currently vice president of business development and co-founder of AtHoc, where he is responsible for creating new business opportunities and market penetration strategies. Prior to AtHoc, Ly worked in global mergers and acquisitions for Chase Manhattan Bank and in emerging markets private equity for Citicorp and the Vietnam Fund Ltd., where he led investment initiatives in Asia Commercial Bank, Vietnam's largest private bank, and in the Ana Mandara, Vietnam’s leading resort. Ly received an MBA from Harvard University and a BA from Princeton University. He is a term member in the Council on Foreign Relations.
Jonathan Spier
Board Member
Jonathan co-founded NetBase and leads the company’s business and sales strategy. His leadership has helped the company transition from a start-up to a world-class software provider that helps solve some of the most complex information challenges faced by the Fortune 1000. Prior to NetBase, Jonathan worked for Ariba, where he managed teams responsible for the core technology underlying Ariba’s business-to-business e-commerce platform. He also managed key partner relationships. Jonathan holds an MBA with Distinction from the Harvard Business School and a BA in computer science with honors from UC Berkeley
Michael Osofsky
Board Member
Michael is the inventor of the technology powering NetBase’s product solutions. His unique background spans computer science and innovation science, and due to his experience in both areas, he came up with the idea of applying the speed and reach of technology to knowledge workers’ everyday information needs. Prior to NetBase, Michael worked for Ariba, where he led multiple product development efforts. Michael holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he founded the MIT Innovation Club, whose 200+ members learn about the science and practice of innovation. Additionally, Michael holds a BA in computer science from UC Berkeley.
